Dig IN to Local Food in Lanark County!

Celebrating food is a Lanark County specialty. You can plan an entire vacation around food by taking in a festival, visiting local markets and growers, and enjoying fine fare at one of our local flavour restaurants.

The Festival of the Maples in downtown Perth, takes place annually on the last Saturday in April is a celebration of the flavourful gold that springs from abundant maple forests in the area. For more than 30 years, this festival welcomes spring to the Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario. Vendors offer award-winning and delicious maple products and other delectable local treats. There is also live entertainment, merchandise vendors, a children�s midway, a petting zoo and much more.

For more than a decade Herbfest has been an Ottawa Valley tradition for those interested in herbs, gardening, cooking and healthy living. Held at the Herb Garden in Almonte at the end of July, tempt your taste buds with culinary treats at the food fair, enjoy breakfast with locally roasted fair-trade coffee and sample wholesome lunch fare along with ethnic favourites. There�s a chefs� cook-off, dozens of vendors, a beer garden, live music, dance, demonstrations and garden tours.

The two-day Garlic Festival in Perth in August, celebrates the �stinking rose� and makes it �chic to reek�! Learn all about garlic and sample locally grown products. There are seminars, vendors, excellent food, crafts, children�s activities and cooking demonstrations at the Perth fairgrounds, along with ample opportunity to learn how to grow and eat this flavourful treat.
