There’s nowhere better to get away from it all than in scenic Lanark County, where pristine natural settings offer unparalleled outdoor experiences. Now, visitors can kick back and relax at three brand-new Lanark County Cabinscape tiny cabin getaways, each tucked in breathtaking wilderness settings for the perfect relaxation escape.
The Canadian cabin builder, Cabinscape, designs, manufactures and rents tiny cabins in untouched natural environments, near rugged trails and in beautiful outdoor spaces. Beautifully designed, Cabinscape cabins will make you feel like you are outdoors, even while you’re indoors, and are a study in both design and function.
Lanark County’s natural environment was an irresistible lure for the Cabinscape team, and the county will soon be home to four Cabinscape experiences for visitors to explore; the existing Joni Cabin at Cartwright Springs Brewery in Pakenham, and three brand-new locations in Tay Valley Township.
Each Cabinscape cabin is minimalist, open-concept, and solar-powered, with a tiny footprint (128 or 160 square feet), sleeping between two and four people. Cabins are bright and airy, with lots of windows and unique ecological touches like reclaimed slab wood that create a zen-like setting ideal for communing with nature solo or with friends.
Cabins come fully equipped with dishes and cooking utensils, an indoor washroom, kitchen, outdoor shower, fire pit, and balcony, for a relaxing retreat amidst the flora and fauna of Lanark County. A composting toilet and grey water septic make Cabinscape cabins the ultimate in low-impact, environmentally friendly accommodations.
In Tay Valley, Cabinscape’s newest cabin, Juniper Cabin, is situated behind the Fall River Restaurant in Maberly, only feet from the Fall River, and roughly 10 minutes to the historic town of Perth. Juniper Cabin is highly accessible, with easy access from Highway 7. Guests can spend their day communing with nature at the cabin, hiking the Tay-Havelock Trail, or head to Perth to explore quaint cafés, world-class theatre, shopping, dining, or brewery hopping.
Nearby, Ember Cabin is also located on the Fall River, and directly on the Tay-Havelock Trail. Finally, Mica Cabin will offer the ultimate in privacy, situated on more than 500-acres and only feet from the private Mill Lake. Mica Cabin will only be accessible by hiking or by four-wheel drive vehicle; for other vehicles parking is located roughly one-kilometre away from the cabin.
All three new cabins will be completed by July 2019. Bookings can be made through the Cabinscape website.
