Fishing on many Lanark County lakes is truly second to none – and if you enjoy fly fishing, jump into your waders and prepare yourself for the time of your life!

The Rideau and Mississippi watersheds are to home to game fish such as lake trout, brook trout, walleye, pike, bass, rainbow trout, splake and big Canadian pan fish.

The experience is heightened by the scenic beauty of unspoiled lakes, forests and wild rivers along with abundant wildlife.  The opportunities for you to escape into memorable lifetime experiences, year round, are limitless.

A licence to fish in Ontario consists of an Outdoors Card plus a fishing licence tag for all Canadian residents.  Non-resident licences are also available for our visitors from farther afield.  Licences can be purchased from many sporting goods stores in our area.  You can also get more information on the Outdoors Card by calling the Outdoors Card Centre at 1-800-387-7011 or by visiting  The toll-free number works from all regions of Canada, from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Eastern Time).
